Philip Treacy in Moscow

At the end of January I was into luck to visit a perfect exhibition of hats created by a famous designer Philip Treacy. It is the first time of such exhibition in Russia. The unique and outstanding 120 hats created by the Master were gathered in the collection represented in Moscow. Some of them have very special owners, among them are monarchs and celebrities.

“I have had the greatest pleasure of having the opportunity to challenge people’s perception of what a hat should look like in the 21st century. I make hats because I love hats. It’s an enigmatic object that serves the human purpose only of beautification and embellishment, and making one feel good, whether you’re the observer of the spectacle or the wearer”
— Philip Treacy.

A flower and a swan, a birdcage and a head of a horse, a merry-go-round and a plate, a lobster and a butterfly, a ship and a horn, a curl and a phone - all of them are the plots for outstanding and modern hats designed by Mr. Treacy. They show us the heights of his creative inspiration and imagination, coruscations of feelings and delicate style.

The collection of hats was represented in the halls of the Saltykov-Chertkov Palace.  The inside display of the halls was perfectly framed. I should say the the work of the lightning technician is worth of greatest respect. It inspired all of my photos of this remarkable exhibition…
